How to end a presentation?

What makes a brilliant presentation ineffective?

Last week I went to a brilliant talk. It ticked all the ‘Confident Voice’ boxes. Except for one crucial box.

Firstly, what worked?

👉It was interesting.

👉It was presented confidently.

👉It made the audience laugh.

👉It made the audience gasp.

👉It looked impressive to the eye.

👉It contained expert content.

Secondly, what didn’t work?

👉There was no call to action.

Afterwards, I felt lost. I had no idea what to do with the information.

When people asked me what the talk was about, I responded: A LOT!

The talk had no impact on me because the speaker didn’t tell me what to do with the information. What a lost opportunity!!

This is a reminder for your next meeting, podcast, presentation or talk, give your audience a call to action.

A call to action can be:

  • Do this exercise…

  • Connect with me here…

  • Make this one simple change today…

My confident call to action for you is to take this FREE assessment to assess your confident speaking skills. (See what I did there?!)
